I bought / acquired this Dress on 12/08/2012 approx £15.00
This is one of my favourite buys from the Summer Sales of last year- it is such a light summer dress and looks great with a tan (not that I managed to acquire one naturally over summer). I have also worn it all this summer of 2013.
I’m not entirely sure how much it was originally but I believe I paid around £15 in the sale which I think was a bargain, especially as Mango is a good quality brand and there isn’t much this price in store normally.
Although it is loose fitting, it has a shape to it and is gathered in at the waist with a lower hemline on the back. I find this flattering as it has a feminine shape without being tight-fitting and overly provocative which can often be the case when looking for evening dresses.
I love the colour as it is a bit different and with the loose fitting shape, looks really feminine and young to wear on a girls’ night out. I have worn it on a couple nights out clubbing and the only issue is that the material is thin so any underwear needs to be discrete!
I normally wear with fake tan, as I’m naturally very pale and this colour would usually make my complexion look ghostly. Apart from that, I’ve gone for minimal jewellery such as a long gold chain or silver necklace as with bright colours, too many accessories can take it overboard.
The shoes I went for in the picture are leopard print heels that I got in a Kurt Geiger winter sale a few years ago but have always kept as animal prints are constantly coming in and out of fashion. I think they also add an element of “going out” to the dress as with a pair of faded jeans, it could be worn in the day time as well.
It is a perfect dress for the summer time and can be worn edgier with a leather jacket and some ankle boots to a bar or more casual setting. I’ll definitely be wearing in next summer, hopefully in warmer weather!
