I bought / acquired this MAC Goldenrod Eyeshadow on 01/09/2012.
The Good: I was instantly attracted to the vibrant colour, the colour pay off is really fantastic. At £12.00, it’s a little bit on the pricey side but MAC is an upmarket brand full of directional colours and ideas and I think you get what you pay for. I was really drawn to to the bold colour, a warm and vibrant yellow which incidentally is a great shade to enhance my green eyes.
On application it is superbly pigmented and takes very little effort to build up an even and striking colour. For day wear, I team it with some pale pink lipstick and a little blush. However, this eye-shadow really comes into it’s own at night-time as when teamed with false lashes and a matte fuschia lipstick it’s very striking indeed; if not a little 1980′s!
For such an unusual shade, I’ve actually gotten a lot of wear out of MAC ‘Goldenrod,’ and as one of the big trends this season is bright, colour pop eyes, I know I’ll get a whole lot more.
All in all, I’m very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it, although it is not your run of the mill shade; it’s a lot more wearable than you might think. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that it’s a little on the pricey side at £12.00, but for the quality it brings, and also the unusual colour I think hey, there’s no harm in a little pay day treat!
